Finding The Want

Disaster Capitalism

One more disaster presents itself

The eye of the storm cashing in on you

The fury of a mother scorned

Did you think all the pillaging was free

You gotta hand it to everyone

Keeping a blind eye on authenticity

Did we really think it would go without consequence

Like all the walking suits and talking heads said it would

Cutting through the noise was a perfunctory pursuit

Who would have thought a lack of interest would be our demise

Ounces of concerned pedestrians

Pointing out the annihilation of ecology

Swamped by kilos of  the indifferent

Shoveling down mouthfuls of plastic reality

Pushing back an ocean of ignorance

With a rotting cardboard box

Did we really think it would go without consequence

Like all the walking suits and talking heads said it would

Cutting through the noise was a perfunctory pursuit

Who would have thought a lack of interest would be our demise

Goodnight Irene nice knowing yeah.

Close the light on your way out

Apologies to everyone yet to be

For the extinction shopping addiction

Nobody cares about sensibility

Until the final curtain falls on humanity
